Players: Husband and wife. Activist: Either. Setting: Home or hotel.

Aim: To appeal to the impulsive fantasy of instant gratification in an exaggerated way so as to underscore the tyranny of this fantasy.

Game Plan: This is a variation of the children’s game “Three Wishes,” played out in the sexual arena. In this version, one spouse—with or without the other spouse’s prior knowledge and participation—asks the big question either before, or in the middle of, foreplay. They might be lolling in bed on a Saturday night, lush music about them, pink lights above them, the scent of incense in the air, when one of them sits up.

“If you could have any three sexual wishes that I could grant you right now, what would they be?”

“Any three wishes?”

“Yes.”

“Hmmm. Seriously?” “Seriously.”

“Any three wishes? Any three at all?” “That’s right.” “What’s the catch?”

“The catch is that before I grant you three wishes, you have to give me three answers.”

“Three answers. What are the questions?”
