HAND – NAIL CARE
posted by admin in Skin CareThe following essential oils can be used for hand baths and massage. Lavender, bergamot, geranium, cypress, patchouli, frankincense, carrot seed, ylang ylang.
Hand Bath – Add 2-4 drops of essential oils to a large bowl and soak for 10-15 minutes. After the bath, massage the reflex point with the hand massage oil adding to each 5 ml hand massage oil 3 drops of essential
oils.
Oatmeal- lavender handwash – Cleans and softens hands. Sprinkle a little onto wet hands. Rub together adding more water until hands are clean, then rinse. Dry hands – pushing down towards your cuticles. Horsetail nail Bath – Horsetail dried 3 tsp., dried dill seeds 3 tsp., boiling water 1 cup. Pour boiling water over herbs, steep over night. Soak hands for 15 minutes.
Lemon cuticle oil – Softens and nourishes cuticles. Mix 10 ml of olive oil with 5 drops of lemon essential oil. Apply oil and massage into cuticles for 1 minute. Resoak hands, push cuticles back with an orange stick which has cotton wool wrapped around the ends. Use small circular movements, then resoak hands.
Fruit cuticle softener – Mash 2 tbsp. of fresh papaya and mix into 25 ml of fresh pineapple juice. Beat in 1 egg yolk and 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar, soak nails in mixture for 1/2 hour, massaging every now and then. Papaya and pineapple eontains an enzyme which softens protein tissue.
Bee’s wax buffer – Increases circulation and adds shine. Apply bee’s wax onto the finger nails, working from the nail bed to the tip of the nail. Remove with a soft cloth to increase the shine of the nails.
Supple nails – to maintain supple finger nails massage olive oli into the nail and cuticle each night ideally after a nail bath.
Nail hardeners – paint nails with fresh lemon juice. Rub lemon peel or apple cider vinegar into the nails daily.
Natural nail colour – use natural henna. Avoid – strong chemical products such as nail polishes, nail polish removers. To bring out the best in your nails improve your diet and look after your hands and nails with natural products from the kitchen.
Brown Skin Spots see (age spots) are often caused by a lack of vitamins B, E and C.
Calluses – warm 125 ml olive oil, 50 ml castor oil, add 1/2 cup of sage leaves and heat for 5 minutes. Steep to cool, strain and bottle. Rub frequently into calluses.
Sore hands Rub kombucha tea or vinegar into your hand.
